Kimi ga Yo
This is the Japanese national anthem. It used to be that they didn't sing this before the games, which was a nice departure from the asinine
exercise fans in MLB ballparks are subjected to at every game. For you ultra-righties out there, I'm just as patriotic as you, but I just don't think I should have to demonstrate it at an entertainment event I go to in order to relax and blow off some steam. Plus the anthem is a bombastic, lousy tune in any case.

Getting back to the Japanese equivalent, it is more like a funeral dirge than somethng that makes you feel glad to be part of that nation. Why in God's name the idiots that be decided to start opening Japanese games with a rendition a few years back is beyond me. But there you go.
