second baseman, Ayumi Kataoka, singled to left off of a fifth pitch 1-2
fastball that was up and on the inner half of the plate from Marines taxi
sqaudder Kurotaki, her first hit ever off of a professional hurler. He
will never hear the end of THAT. The pros won, though, 9-4.
Orix DH Kazuhiro Kiyohara has complainged that his knees aren't responding to the rehab routine he has been undergoing. However, he was examined by a doctor Thursday and no abnormalities were found. Rakuten NPB officials announced the first results of all star voting Thursday and pitcher Masahiro Tanaka is leading all Pacific League pitchers right now despite the fact that he isn';t having nearly as good a year as Yu Darvish (Nippon Ham), Toshiya Sugiuchi (Softbank) or Hideaki Wakui (Seibu). However, DH Takeshi Yamasaki is leading all NPB players in total votes and deservedly so, as he is having an MVP year by leading the circuit in homers and RBIs. Seven other positions are all being occupied by Softbank players at the moment. |
