2005: Plate umpire Uemoto loses track of the count and Yokohama first baseman Takahiro Saeki had to keep pn batting depite ball four having already been registered against a pitcher for Hanshin in the third inning. 2006: In perhaps the most bizarre occurrence in NPB history, Hiroshima catcher Yoshiyuki Ishihara's glove is ticked by Yokohama first baseman Takahiro Saeki's bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the tenth at Shimonoseki for a walkoff catcher's interference. This is the first time ever in Japanese pro history this has taken place. The final was 6-5, backup second baseman Kazuya Fujita trotting in with the winning run. In addition, Carp shortstop Eishin Soyogi cracks his 113th hit to set a new team rookie record. 
2006: Lefthander Masanori Ishikawa wins his tenth game of the year in a faceoff with Chunichi, making it the first time in Swallows history that a pitcher has done that in each of his first five seasons with the club and the first man since Yukihiro Nishizaki of Nippon Ham in 1991. 
2005: Hanshin bench coach Katsuo Hirata gets the gate after objecting to the plate umpire's ball and strike calls. He was subsequently suspended for one game and given a written reprimand by the league.

2001: Japanese high school baseball powerhouse Sendai Ikuei High is discovered to have had a violent incident within the team in August and the head coach and his boss are asked to resign by the Japan High School Baseball Federation. 
2000: A big typhoon causes enough flooding to interrupt train service, resulting in Yomiuri Giants players having to spend the night in a train car. 2001: Orix infielder Yasuo Fujii connects for a pinch hit sayonara grand slam to right at Kobe Green Stadium against Lotte off of closer Masahide Kobayashi to win it 7-6, the fourth slam of the season for him and the second pinch hitting, a new record for a single campaign. He is also only the third person in history to launch a pinch sayonara slam three runs behind.
