Nagoya pitcher Michio Nishizawa (311 pitches) goes all the way, as did Taiyo starter Jiro Noguchi (344 pitches). The game started at 2:40 in the afternoon and was halted at 6:27 p.m. What is especially remarkble was that Noguchi had just spun a shutout the day before against Asahi, where he had a no hitter spoiled with one out in the ninth and another shutouts two days before that. |
