The barrage ended a nine game losing streak.

2005: Softbank first baseman Julio Zuleta is ejected during an argument with the plate umpire. He would later be fined 100,000 yen and given a written reprimand. 
2005: Chunichi first baseman Tyrone Woods has his tower buzzed by Yakult starter Shugo Fujii and charges the mound and punches Fujii out. He is ejected and later suspended for ten days and and fined 500,000 yen. Fujii suffered injuries to his jaw and neck and has to go on the shelf.

2006: Central League umpire Koichi Uemoto dies from a bloodclot in the heart at age 43. He had worked 1412 games during his officiating career. He had worked a game only two days before that. 
2005: It is the first day of NPB's first ever interleague schedule. 
2005: An 11 year old kid is hit on the head by a ball during pre-game batting practice off the bat of a Yomiuri player and suffers a fractured skull. 
2002: Seibu first baseman Alex Carbrera hit the roof woith a drive near the leftfield fence in a game against Nippon Ham and it falls back on to the field of play. Under the ground rules, it was still a live ball, so it only went for a single. That would ultimately cost him the chance to set a new Japanese homer record, as he finished with 55. 
2002: Kazuyoshi Tatsunami has an 18 pitch at bat against Yomiuri reliever Yukinaga Maeda, one short of the Japan record. 13 of those were after the count ran 2-2. He ultimately flew out to center.. 
2002: Orix first baseman Fernando Seguignol hammers homers from both sides of the plate for the second game in a row at Kobe Green Stadium, the first one  against Kintetsu and the second against Lotte, to set a new record.  The first homer in the lotte faceoff came in the first against Shingo Ono fromthe lefthand side and the second was from the righthand side off of Takashi Kawai in the third.

2006: Hiroshima pitcher Mike Romano says the magic word to the plate umpire during a game with Chunichi and is ejected. He was later fined 50,000 yen and given a written reprimand. But that game would be more notorious for Carp field boss Marty Brown objecting to Romano's exit by ripping a couple of bases out of their moorings and flinging them Lou Piniella stylee into the outfield. Brown was also ejected and later fined 100,000 yen. 
2005: Yomiuri first baseman Kazuhiro Kiyohara connects for his tenth homer of the season in a game with Rakuten and ties hall of famer Isao Harimoto's record with his 20th straight year with double figures in dingers from the outset of his career.

2005: Lotte annihilates Yokohama 18-0 at Yokohama Stadium on 19 hits as Shunsuke Watanabe scatters seven hits for his second shutout of the season. It is the tenth time a club has been beaten by 18 in NPB history but the first time that a single team has won a pair of games in the same year by that margin. Watanabe also tied a record held by several others by whiffing five times.

The final score ends up at 17-16 in the Swallows favor on a two out bases loaded sayonara knock by Rex Hudler in the 14th inning, making it the highest scoring one run game ever. There were a total of ten homers blasted and 14 pitchers used. Hiroshima had to comeback from a 13-5 deficit to tie it up.

The game started at 2:40 in the afternoon and was halted at 6:27 p.m. What is especially remarkble was that Noguchi had just spun a shutout the day before against Asahi, where he had a no hitter spoiled with one out in the ninth and another shutouts two days before that.

2005: Yomiuri outfielder Tuffy Rhodes is ejected for arguing an umpire's call in the 12th inning of a game against Orix. It is his ninth career ejection, a new pro yakyu record. He is fined 100,000 yen and give a written reprimand. 
2001: Lotte pitcher Takahiro Yamazaki throws one pitch in a game and induces an inning ending double play against Daiei. Lotte goes on to take it, giving Yamazaki his first career victory on that one delivery. 
1991: Orix pitcher Don Schulze steps in for the only at bat of his career in Japan in the 11th inning against Kintetsu at Nihon Seimei Stadium and homers to oleftcenter off of top reliever Motoyuki Akahori, become the first pitcher to homer in a game since the introduction of the DH in the Pacific League.  In addition, he was only the fifth pitcher ever to homer in his first at bat and the 31st player overall to accomplish that feat. Yes, he was the winning pitcher in that one.
