Biography: His signing by Yokohama became controversial after Bigbie was named in the Mitchell Report as a user of performance enhancing drugs. After it was initially thought that Yokohama was going to then pass, they kept him, albeit with special provisions in his contract in case he was caught using again. That became moot, though, as he was injured during spraing straining, delaying his debut, and then suffered subsequent physical maladies. Plus he didn;t hit as anticipated and was released at the end of the season.

Biography: Signed in June, 2008. Destroyed lefthanders, but did almost nothing against righties. However, they decided to keep him for 2009 due to his power potential. But he then had a bad spring training, consigning him to the minors to begin the year and never really did enough, especially against righties again, in a limited opportunity to stick with the top club and was released at the end of the schedule. Signed by the Chicago White Sox after leaving Japan. Reference: Wikipedia Japan

Biography: Could hold eight baseballs in one hand. Some Japanese baseball writers believe that he may have had the biggest hands in Japanese history. Let's just hope he isn't genetically disposed to Marfan's syndrome. Suffered a fracture of a pinky finger in July, 1993 after a game at Meiji Jingu Stadium and returned to the states to rehab it, but was kept on anyway. However, that fracture also ended a 29 game hitting streak, just four off the record (6/2-7/15/1993). Selected to two all star teams (1994-1995).

Biography:Joined Chunichi in May, 1988 and then moved to Kintetsu on June 7th as a replacement for Dick Davis, where he slammed 34 homers in just 74 games, going yard at a record 7.85 at bats pace. Ripped 100 homers in 246 games, a Japan record (6/1990). Also holds record for fastest from 100 homers to 250. Drove in all six runs in a come from behind victory with two solo jacks and a slam (10/12/1989 against Seibu in game one of a doubleheader). He then went over the wall again in his first at bat of game two, making it four homers in four at bats. Drilled a shot off a speaker in deep centerfield and it was ruled a home run. It was estimated that it would have gone more than 520 feet if the ball was unimpeded (6/6/1990 at Tokyo Dome against Nippon Ham in the fourth inning off of Sumio). Had a nine RBI game (9/7/1993). His 204 strikeouts in a season is a Japan record (1993). His 31 straight games with a strikeout is a Pacific League record (6/29-8/29/1990). He then had another streak of 25 consecutive games with a whiff (9/12-10/17/1993). Slugged three homers in a game eight times. Selected to three all star teams (1990, 1992-1993). Hated alcohol and so never drank.
