Biography: Has a twin brother. Began playing baseball in third grade. Pitched in addition to playing the outfield in high school. Drafted on the second round (1995).  Tried switch hitting, but couldn't make it work (1998). In his first ever all star at bat, cracked an inside the park homer, the fourth inside the park jack in NPB all star history and the first in 21 years (1999 off of Takeo Kawamura). Ran into the wall chasing a fly ball in 2000 and hurt his shoulder. He wasn't the same after it. Traded to Chunichi. Played with a club team in 2006. Selected to one all star team (1999).
