Biography: Moved to Tientsin, China at age five. His father was drafted into the Imperial Army. His mother died from an illness. After the war, he and his older brother returned to Japan. His junior high didn't have a baseball program, sho he didn't begin playing organized ball until high school. Batted cleanup in college. Was going to sign with Chunichi, but Yomiuri thought that Shigeo Nagashima was going to sign with Nankai, so Yomiuri pressed Namba to signm with them, which he did. Unfortunately, so did Nagashima and Namba ended up being relegated to being a  bench player  most of his career. After retirement, he worked his way up to an executive position with Warner-Pioneer Records.

Biography: Was his high school team's leadoff hitter and captain. Played in one Koshien Tournament (spring 1986). Won a batting title in college with a .409 average (spring 1990). Selected to five conference Best Nine teams and was tapped for a spot on Japan's national collegiate all star squad. Drafted on the second round (1990). Biography: Played in both spring and summer Koshien High School Baseball Tournaments as a senior (1971). Drafted on the second round (1971). Selected to six all star teams (1979-1981, 1983, 1985-1986). Became a baseball commentator with NHK after retirement and then a coach with Kintetsu in 1993, eventually being asked to managed their minor league club.  Named manager of the top team in 1999, becoming the first native of Shimane Prefecture to skipper a Japanese pro team.

Biography: Was drafted into the military after graduating from Nichidaisan Chugakkou. Won a Tokyo Metropolitan University batting title. Due to his coach getting a job with Hosei, he transferred there. He then joined the Kintetsu Pearls at the invitation of his college coach, who was hired as that team's manager. Scouted and coached in the minors for Kintetsu before taking a series of managing positions. Between the Seibu and Daiei jobs, worked in Seibu's front office. After stepping down at Daiei, he moved into their front office and resigned the position he held, only to be named team president later one.
