Biography: Became only third man ever to post a .300, 30 homers, 30 steals season (1953). Hit what was then the longest homer in Japanese history against the Daiei Stars (8/29/1953 at Heiwadai Stadium off of sidearmer Giichi Hayashi on a fastball that was up and on the inner half of the plate), a Mike Piazza style bazooka shot that cleared the second deck in leftcenter and went out on to the street behind the ballpark, estimated in excess of 520 feet. There is also a story told by Noboru Aota about a shot that Nakanishi unloaded at Kurume Stadium that just missed hitting the pitcher before it also completely left the ballpark (1954). Then there is another one where Nakanishi hit a low liner so hard at Tokyo Stadium that Mainichi Orions shortstop Masaaki Arimachi was hit in the knee before he could react and he had to be taken to the hospital. During that 1953 season, he hit more homers individually than the entire rosters of the Daiei Stars and the Kintetsu Pearls did. Slugged pinch hit grand slam against the St. Louis Cardinals at Osaka Stadium as a member of a Japanese all star team, a liner that went out to leftcenter  (11/4/1958). Don Blasingame was the second baseman on that team and when he became the manager of the Hanshin Tigers, he made Nakanishi his batting instructor. Aota once said that he would pay 10,000 yen a time just to watch Nakanishi take batting practice. From 1959, began suffering from a wrist problem. Selected to seven all star teams, batting .172 (5-29) with two homers and five RBIs in 13 games (1953-1955, 1957-1958, 1961, 1963). After retirement, he coached for Kintetsu, Yomiuri, Lotte and Orix and has acted a consultant with Yakult.

Biography: Started playing baseball in third grade as a catcher anbd became a pitcher in sixth grade. Played Senior League in junior high, taking his squad to a second place finish in a world championship. Batted cleanup in high school. Slugged 87 homers in high school, the most ever recorded at that level. Drilled a 550 foot homer to left ( video ) during a prefectural tournament semifinal game (11/3/2006 against Ichikawa High School at Kimiidera Stadium in Wakayama Prefecture). It went over a road and then a row of houses behind the stadium and landed in a field across the street. The longest at that ballpark previously was a 425 footer by Osamu Hamanaka off of Yuji Yoshimi  when he was a high schooler. Was clocked as high as 94mph in high school in addition to playing first base and rightfield. Played in three Koshien Tournaments (summer 2005, summer 2006, spring 2007). Turned down a $2.5 million offer from Seattle to stay in Japan. Was also heavily scouted by Minnesota and the Mets. Outgoing Nippon Ham manager Trey Hillman won the lottery drawing for his drft rights by picking the winning ticket. Drafted on the first round (2007). Didn't hit during spraing training of his rookie season and began the regular schedule in the minors, where he had his moments despite some obvious defensive shortcomings. However, he had to have knee surgery and missed the last two months of the schedule (2008). Became the first man in Eastern League history to connect for 30 homers and also garnered the RBI title with a circuit record tying 95 (2009). He was also MVP of that season's minor league all star game and finished second in batting average. However, they have given up on him as a third baseman and he was being worked out in the outfield during spring training, 2010.His favoreite food is okonomiyaki and he hates tomatoes. Favorite player is Daisuke Matsuzaka. Favorite color is pink. Reference:  Wikipedia Japan

Played in the Shikoku Island League after leaving college with the Ehime Mandarin Pirates in 2005, where he was named to that circuit's Best Nine after finishing second in batting and stealing 21 bags. Was signed as Hiroshima's first ever taxi squad player under the current system and he was the first man in NPB history drafted under that framework. Added to the regular 70 man roster at the end of February, 2008 . However, while he apparently has some promise as a hitter, he has issues with the glove. Still an actice player.
