Biography: Played in four stright Koshien Tournaments (spring, summer 1984-1985). Was his team's ace his senior year in high school. Drafted on the third round by Nankai (1985). (Slugged 60,000th homer in Japanese pro history (9/26/1990 against Orix at Nishinomiya Stadium off of Yukihiko Yamaoki). Also hammered 30,000th homer in Pacific League annals (6/6/1992 against Seibu at Seibu Stadium off of Tetsuya Shiozaki). Went to Orix in June, 1997. Belted a pinch hit walkoff grand slam (7/7/1998). Biography: Was an outfielder in high school. Won two Tokyo Big Six University League batting titles. Set a record with ten league homers in 1983. Played in the L.A. Olympics (1984). Drafted on the first round (1984). Hammered a total of 18 homers as a collegian. Slugged a grand slam in an 11 pitch at bat (1985 against Hanshin). Had a career best 21 game hitting streak (5/1990). Biography: Originally signed as a pitcher (1955). Converted into an outfielder in 1961. Had hits in each of his first seven pro at bats. Is second all time in lifetime steals. Had a record 31 straight successful steal attempts streak (3/28-5/30/1964). His 44 steals in 46 attempts is a steals success rate record (1968). Holds all time record for plate appearances with 676 and official at bats in a season with 626 (1963). Had one three homer game (5/13/1963 against Kintetsu). Holds PL record for most outfield chances in a season with 368 (1963).Had a 27 game hitting streak (5/14-6/13/1964). Had second highest average ever for a righthand hitter (1964). 2000th hit (7/1/1972 against Nishitetsu at Heiwadai Stadium in the fourth off of Osamu Higashio to become the sixth man in history to that mark). Became a baseball commentator for NHK after retirement (1981-1990) before becoming a coach with Daiei (1991-1992). His 88 lifetime triples is fifth all time. Slugged three lifetime walkoff homers. Pitched in one game after beginning game as position player (10/14/1970). Played in six Japan Series and hit .250 in 32 games (1959, 1961, 1964-1966, 1973). Had six extra base hits in a Japan Series (1964). Selected to nine all star teams and batted .250 in 23 games (1958-1963, 1965-1966, 1969). Slammed one career pinch hit homer (1969).
