| Comments: With the infusion of new personnel,
especially outfielder Teppei Tsuchiya and |
| infielders Rick Short and Jose Fernandez, the
Eagles actually had two winning months and would |
| have had an even better showing had they been
able to hit at all with runners in scoring position. |
| They left more men on than American helicopters
did during the evacuation of Saigon. They really |
| need a power outfield bat something fierce and
their bullpen is paper thin. So they won't contend |
| this season, but Miyagi is a nice ballpark and
is the largest in Japan in terms of distances to the |
| outfield walls. It also gets cold, so dress warmly if you go toward
the end of the schedule. |
