| Comments: This ballpark has one ugly facade.
It looks like they ried to fit a giant steel |
| tcondom on top of it and couldn't quite
get it done. What were they thinking? The |
| stadium authority then went under financially
and Orix picked up the rights to run it for |
| a song. It is a sucky place to go see a game, but it is right in downtown
Osaka, so what |
| it lacks in looks and fan appeal it makes up for in convenience. As
for the Buffaloes, they |
| were subjected to incompetent field generalship from Katsuhiro Nakamura,
so that job is |
| now in the hands of Terry Collins, who has worn out his welcome in
his two previous |
| managerial stints with Houston and Anaheim. This team is a defensive
nightmare, it has to |
| accomodate two washed up and very expensive sluggers in Kazuhiro Kiyohara
and |
| Norihiro Nakamura and the bullpen is shakier than a Parkinson's patient.
They do have |
| okay starting pitching, but the betting has already started on which
month in 2007 it will |
| be before Collins completely loses it and is either fired or quits.
This ballclub is a mess. |
