Biography: Threw a perfect game in high school. Drafted on the fifth round (1983). Trained with the Dodgers at Vero Beach, where he was reportedly taught the screwball by Dodgers official Ike Oihara (who is now in the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame) and was scouted by Montreal, who attempted to acquire him. But he turned that offer down and went back to Japan. First complete game (9/16/1988 against Yakult at Meiji Jingu Stadium). Has made four Opening Day starts (1997-1998, 2001-2002). Tied a record with three wild pitches in an inning (7/4/1996). Is the first Chunichi pitcher to ever toss a shutout after age 40 and the sixth all time. Four of the other five are hall of famers or soon to be hall of famers (6/16/2006 against Softbank at Nagoya Dome 4-0). Hurt his shoulder during spring training, 2010, but recovered to contribute nicely to the Dragons drive to the pennant. Selected to six all star teams (1989, 1992-1994, 1997, 2004). 100th win (7/21/1997 against Hanshin at Koshien Stadium, the 114th man to that mark). 200th win (8/4/2008 against Yomiuri at Nagoya Dome, going the distance). 1000th strikeout (7/15/1997 against Hiroshima at Nagoya Dome, the victim being Hiroki Kuroda). 2000th inning (9/5/2000 against Yokohama at Nagoya Dome, the 79th man to that mark). 3000th inning (5/14/2008 against Yakult). 2000th strikeout (9/9/2006 against Hiroshima at Hiroshima Municipal Stadium in the third inning off of Takahiro Arai, the 18th man to that mark).  500th apperance (5/27/2007 against Nippon Ham at Seibu Dome in a losing start). Is the longest serving Central League player ever exclusively playing in that circuit. He also holds the record with most consecutive years of at least one win in the Central League at 22. His 200th victory was the first such milestone by a Dragons pitcher in 51 years and he was the eoldest man in NPB history to reach that mark.  He is also the oldest man ever to pickup a Player of the Month award when he did it in August, 2008 and the eldest to register a save, a complete game and a shutout. Married to wife Yumiko and has a son and a daughter. His younger brother heads up the baseball program at Masahiro's alma mater. His father Takumi was a Nodo Jiman (NHK singing contest show) national champion in 1966. His hobby is radio controlled toys. Reference: Wikipedia Japan    Official Homepage

Biography: Started playing baseball in fourth grade. Became a pitcher in junior high. Was his high school team's ace and cleanup hitter. Played in one Koshien Tournament. Drafted on the first round (1994). They thought he was going to be another Manabu Kitabeppu, but that didn't pan out and they released him at the conclusion of the 1999 season after he came down with an autonomic nerve dysfunction. However, he was picked up by Kintetsu after a tryout during spring training of 2000. He also reportedly made an allegation that he had been bullied by a teammate. One of the weekly gossip magazines pointed the finger at pitcher Shin Nakagome as the abusive party. Nagamomi was released that same season and retired. Went to Rakuten in the 2004 dispersal draft. On June 1, 2005, stated against Yokohama and was hammered for an NPB record tying four homers in the first and didn't get a single out until he was pulled. Then on Auguest 24 in a start against Nippon Ham, surrendered 11 runs in six innings. His 5.35 ERA that season would be a league worst fort those qualifying for the ERA title. Hurt his shoulder during spring training of 2008 and was out until May, but then experienced more pain while throwing in the bullpen and spent the entire year as well as most of 2009 on the shelf as a result. Fastball around 90mph, slider, changeup, cutter, shuuto. Selected to one all star team (2000). His wife is the sister of Yomiuri reliever Yuya Kubo's wife. Reference: Wikipedia Japan    Official Blog

Biography: Went 20-4 in college. Drafted on the first round (2000). His first year of pro ball was riddled with injury, including an elbow fracture and was frustrated enough to ask for his release, but the Hawks front office dissuaded him. Released after the end of the 2008 campaign. Played later that year with the San Diego Surf Dawgs of the Arizona Winter League and then had a short and unsuccessful stint with the Monterey Sultans in the Mexican League in 2009. He went back to Japan in an attempt to find another NPB job, but then discovered another shoulder issue and decided to retire, but he then did some work for the Ehime Mandarin Pirates of the Shikoku-Kyushu Island League in 2010.
