Biography: Was introduced to baseball by his father in elementary school. Played in three Koshien Tournaments. Lost to a team of MLB all stars 1-0 on a homer to right by Lou Gehrig off of a curve ball after having allowed just one hit through the first six innings (11/20/1934 at Kusanagi Stadium). Started in three straight games to give the Giants their first ever title.. hrew the first no hitter in Japanese pro baseball history. Drafted into the military in January, 1938. He served three tours and it had a ruinous effect on his shoulder and thus his stuff. Had five walkless complete games lifetime. The transport ship he was riding in, which was bound for Leyte in the Phillipines, was sunk by American warships in the Taiwan Straits.
