| Biography: Played soccer in junior high. Started playing organized baseball in high school because it did away with its soccer program. Became his high school's ace as a junior. Participated in the L.A. Olympics (1984). Drafted on the third round (1984). However, he hurt his ankle playing soccer the day before his introductory press conference and so he didn't attend it. His one loss in 1987 was because of a no hitter pitched against the Giants. Got the save in game seven of the 1989 Japan Series to complete a four game sweep against Kintetsu after the Giants had been down three games to none. Became one of only seven men in Central League history to strikeout all three men in an inning on just nine pitches in an inning (8/17/1994 against Chunichi at Tokyo Dome). Divorced his wife over disagreements on how to raise their daughter (1996). Suffered whiplash when he was hit from behind by another motorist on the second day of the regular season schedule (4/5/1997). Became a tv personality and baseball commentator after retirement. He also released an album produced by a member of the pop group Tube in 1998. Is currently married to buyo dancer Kirara Wakayanagi. Official Homepage Reference: Wikipedia Japan |

| Biography: Submariner. Was a reliever in high school. Played in one Koshien Tournament, winning it all (summer 1997). Was his college team's ace, winning two Tokyo Metropolitan University League MVPs and finishing with a 35-18 record lifetime in 80 games in that circuit. Also named to two league Best Nine squads. Is the all time wins leader for Asia University. Drafted on the first round (1981). Started a game against Yokohama and was inserted into rightfield with two outs in the fifth inning after starting the game on the hill so that a reliever could come in to get one hitter. Once that was done, Miyamoto ascended the mound again and went three more innings to get credit for a relief win, the first time in 15 years that had happened (8/29/1993 at Yokohama Stadium 3-1). Had three walkless complete games lifetime. Became a sportswriter for Sankei Sports before coaching and scouting with Yakult after retirement. Reference: Wikipedia Japan |

He would later be picked to a couple of Japanese international tournament teams, but his senior year, he tried to change his mechanics to up his velocity and it played havoc with his command.
