He is also just one of two men all time to register a single pitch win and a loss. Throws mostly fastballs and sliders, though he tends to leave them up more than what his team would desire. Biography: His father runs a driving school. He suffered a severally fractured foot in high school causing teams who had been previously interested in him to back off. Drafted on the seventh round (2001). It is said that he resembles Shinji Imanaka in his delivery. Hides the ball real well. In 2005, changed his arm slot a little more toward three quartes upon the advice of a coach and it put a little more zip on his fastball so that he topped out around 91mph. Began having elbow problems during the latter half of the 2006 season and took pain killers to pitch through it. During the offseason, it was discovered that he had a bone spur there, but he chose to forego surgery. He would then have a shoulder issue in the second half of the 2007 campaign. Had surgery for the bone spurs during the 2007 offseason. Lost his command during the 2008 season, resulting in a lot of time in the minors, and was traded to Nippon Ham during that offseason. Released after the 2011 season and picked up by Yokohama. Fastball now tops out at 90mph on a good day with a slider and forkball. Married to Tokyo TV announcer Kyoko Kamei and has a son and a daughter. Official Blog   Reference:  Wikipedia Japan

Biography: Started playing baseball in first grade. Played in both Boys League and Senior League through junior high. Became his high school team's ace his junior year. Was 5-1 in college. Was reportedly offered a deal by the Yankees, but turned it down. Drafted on the first round (2000). Never developed consistent control with his submarine delivery that allowed him to crank it up to as high as 95mph and lent him a big breaking slider.
